Scoring high with the DVD

Hi...my name is Paul E. Watts and together with my partner Pam Greenwood we've built a large and ever-growing team primarily using the DVD as a promotional tool.

When the DVD was launched at the Wildfire convention at the end of September last year and as soon as we played our copy back home we were convinced this was the way forward. Its very professional production coupled with the presentation by a well-known broadcaster just seemed to hit the nail right on top of its proverbial little head.

But, how best to get it out there? We knew if we could get it out to the right people we would get sign-ups. We started with a simple sales letter that we emailed and posted to friends and contacts and were encouraged by the result. The point is, we were getting targeted prospects – they’d actually asked us for the DVD, so we knew they were looking for a business opportunity. The system also automatically captures not only their postal address but their email address too. Hot prospects!

We tweaked the sales letter and posted a few more out. It was, however, time-consuming as the letters had to be folded, inserted into C5 envelopes and addressed before applying stamps and finally posting them.

We wanted something quicker and easier to produce so that other team members would be encouraged to use it too. The DVD Postcard was then born - which had the same copy on it, but now we just had to address and stamp them. Job done!

We posted cards or sent emails with the same copy on to all our FROGS and it then became known as The Frogging Postcard. FROGS by the way for the uninitiated are your Friends, Relatives, Organisations, Geography, Same.

Many of our team now use the system. Rik Law for example has built a residual 4-weekly income of over £500 and he's done this in just 10 weeks! He currently sponsors 2 or 3 new members every day. Fantastic result.

Another member of our Team Vickie Sellars sent 500 cards out 4 weeks ago which resulted in 30 DVD's being despatched and she already has 7 NEW MEMBERS. She’s desperate to leave her job – she’s well on the way!

Caroline & Steve Bingham do fairly regular mailings and by saving them income have now paid off their car loan and recently bought a gorgeous five-seater settee for their lounge. They’re now using their e-lottery income to fund 3 holidays every year! Their medium-term ambition is to build the business enough so that they can both retire from their full time jobs to concentrate on their e-lottery business and to spend more time with their young son Jack.

As has, in fact, my partner Pam, who has recently resigned from her 2-day-a-week job as a Medical Secretary to spend more time at home, more holidays and of course the very necessary task of purchasing more shoes! Seriously though, she no longer has the time to go to work - she knows that spending that time on her e-lottery business will bring her far more rewards and, of course, we're all building our own dreams instead of someone else's!

Lynne Ferguson is also building her team in the same way, adding new members to her team on a regular basis. Many more - far too numerous to mention here - are now seeing the potential and are starting to use this great recruiting tool with fantastic results.

We encourage our team to use this system and to keep in touch with all their DVD prospects, either by email or phone, to answer any questions they may have. Keeping in touch with Prospects increases take-up dramatically. Don’t forget the golden rule in Network Marketing:-

Make Contact

Keep in Contact

What’s on the Postcard?

The postcard simply invites people to request a DVD and in its simplest form will carry your email address where people are asked to email you with their name & address. You send the DVD out (with a suitable but simple covering letter pointing prospects to your VWD website in order to sign-up).

We've found by keeping the whole thing blind (i.e. there's no mention of lotteries on the postcard, covering letter or DVD) more people will watch the DVD simply to find out what it's all about.

Our own analysis on the results are;-

9% who receive the postcards request the DVD

An incredible one out of three who receive the DVD sign up!

That's a great result!

Initially you might want to disregard the postcard and just get the DVD's out there to your warm market (people you know well). Jonathan Bone did this, simply handing out 7 DVD's with his URL on the sleeve and all 7 signed up! You can't really improve on that!

So our recommendation, and I know many in my downline will agree, is to get the DVD's out there. First to your FROGS and then later widen the area. It works!

Regards

Paul E. Watts
